Meticulously hand scraped one board at a time by our very own highly skilled master craftsmen. Each piece of this Huntington Mahogany has its own unique scraping/tool markings and there are NO repeated patterns unlike those other machine molded/distressed products on the market. This is the real thing! No cutting corners, Alston's high quality hand scraped flooring is crafted the old traditional way: One piece at a time!
We only source raw materials from reliable and environmental responsible suppliers. This product is FSC certified and CARB phase II complaint; Lacey Act Compliant. Not only we use FORMALDEHYDE FREE adhesive during our manufacturing process, our unique 3-layer construction method uses up to 90% less chemicals in our flooring when compared to other multilayer plywood backing flooring on the market. This is a Green Product so it will qualify for LEED points.
Our Huntington Mahogany is truly one of a kind! With a 4mm SAWN top wear layer which is more stable, and a higher quality grain pattern than peeled veneer which you see on other common flooring products. This 100% handcrafted mahogany has a very fine and even grain with colors that range from a light brown to dark red with a slight smoky tint. These boards have all the natural wood characteristics such as knots, mineral streaks, and have been processed to create an antique, but elegant appearance. Some man-made filler marks are expected in this product. This product is offered in 3-1/2", 5-1/4" and 7" widths which are packaged in separate boxes. The floor can be installed with the combination of 3-1/2"--5-1/4"; or 3-1/2"--5-1/4"--7" , or can be installed with single width preferences.
Since we manufacture all of our products in our very own mill, you can also use other colors/species of our flooring for borders, OR mix and match any of our product lines for a custom installation which is truly--YOURS!
